Ammanford (SA18) sits on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons and serves the Amman Valley. We install solar, batteries and heat pumps across SA18 and SA19, with strong demand from rural off-gas-grid properties. Why solar and heat pumps work in Ammanford
The Amman Valley's high concentration of off-grid properties (no mains gas) makes it one of our strongest ASHP retrofit areas. Are yields really lower in Ammanford than Pembrokeshire?
Slightly, yes — SA18 is at higher latitude and more cloud-affected by the Beacons. But 955 kWh/kWp is still 5% above the UK average and a 4 kW system here will generate around 3,820 kWh/year. Real-world yields from our monitored Ammanford customers consistently match this.
